Scaling the peaks of Mingulay: great Scot! – a photo essay

Taking in the rugged plains, sheer cliffs and remarkable wildlife of the Outer Hebridean island, with the first Briton to conquer Everest without bottled oxygen I thought the sun had blinked, but we had been caught in the shadow of a golden eagle passing low overhead.
